P0325Knock Sensor 1 Circuit (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)
What it means
The ECU sees an electrical fault in the knock sensor 1 circuit. Without a usable knock signal the ECU retards the ignition timing as a precaution, so power and economy drop.
Symptoms
- Check engine light
- Reduced power (ignition retarded as a precaution)
- Higher fuel consumption
Common causes
- Open or shorted sensor wiring (often under the intake manifold)
- Corroded connector
- Failed knock sensor
- Shield or ground fault
What to check first
- Measure the sensor resistance and insulation to ground
- Scope the signal while tapping the block near the sensor
- Inspect the harness, especially under the intake manifold
