P0562System Voltage Low

What it means

The supply voltage the ECU sees is below the minimum, usually under about 10–11 V with the engine running.

Symptoms

  • Battery light on
  • Hard starting
  • Several modules storing communication codes

Common causes

  • Weak or discharged battery
  • Failing alternator or regulator
  • Slipping drive belt
  • Poor ground or high-resistance cable

What to check first

  1. Load-test the battery
  2. Check charging voltage (about 13.5–14.7 V)
