ElectricalSeverity High: diagnose before driving on

P0652Sensor Reference Voltage "B" Circuit Low

What it means

The 5 V reference "B" is pulled low: usually one of the sensors on it, or its wiring, is shorted to ground.

Symptoms

  • Several sensor codes at the same time
  • Limp mode, possibly no start
  • Erratic gauges or throttle

Common causes

  • A shorted sensor on that reference
  • Reference wire chafed to ground
  • Water in a connector

What to check first

  1. Find which sensors share this reference (wiring diagram)
  2. Unplug them one at a time and watch whether the reference recovers to 5 V
  3. Inspect the shared wiring and splices
