P2032Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
What it means
The exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 signal voltage is too low. For this type of sensor that means the ECU sees an impossibly high temperature, usually because the signal wire is shorted to ground. This sensor is usually before the particulate filter and controls regeneration.
Symptoms
- Check engine light
- DPF regeneration may not run
- Possibly limp mode
Common causes
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Sensor shorted internally
- Water in the connector
What to check first
- Live data usually shows a very high temperature (130 °C or more) with a cold engine
- Unplug the sensor: the reading should drop to about −40 °C
- Check the harness for chafing to ground
