P2453Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance
What it means
The DPF differential pressure sensor signal is electrically possible, but it doesn't make sense compared with other sensors or with what the engine is doing. The DPF differential pressure sensor measures the pressure difference across the diesel particulate filter.
Symptoms
- Check engine light
- Regeneration not running, or running too often
- Possibly limp mode
Common causes
- Split, blocked or swapped sensor hoses
- Faulty sensor
- Real DPF restriction or damage
What to check first
- Key on, engine off: the sensor should read close to zero
- Inspect the hoses and their routing
- Compare readings at idle and 3,000 rpm
Generic OBD-II meaning. Manufacturer-specific meanings and checks can differ; always check the service information for the car.
