P2135Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "A"/"B" Voltage Correlation

What it means

The two throttle position signals don't agree with each other. The ECU can't trust the throttle position and goes into limp mode.

Symptoms

  • Limp mode with very limited power
  • Electronic throttle warning light

Common causes

  • Worn throttle position sensor track
  • Corroded connector or wiring fault on one signal
  • Water in the throttle body connector

What to check first

  1. Graph both signals while opening the throttle slowly (they should mirror each other smoothly)
  2. Check the connector and wiring
  3. Replace the throttle body if one track has dead spots
Can I drive with P2135? Not recommended. P2135 can lead to stalling, limp mode or engine damage; diagnose it before driving further.
